Sharepoint 2007 metadata hiding
Hello.
I am using sharepoint 2007. I have some document library. I defined custom properties "Column1" and "Column2" for documents. I would like to have both of them included and visible in sharepoint document library portal. But I want to hide
(remove exactly) the "Column2" property if document is saved outside. I tried to select "This column is Hidden" option whilst defining the Content list type column, but it only hidden the column in "Properties panel" inside eg. MS Word. It's still
visible when I choose "Advanced Properties" option and "Custom" tab. I tried to remove "Column2" from Content Type definition, but it doesn't remove the "Column2" from "Custom" tab properties as well.
Is there any option to set in sharepoint 2007 that removes desired metadata (properties) from document while its saved outside sharepoint ? (more specyfic - is it possible to indicate Sharepoint 2007, which metadata properties should be included
in document).
Please help and thank you in advance!

Simples answer. No.
SharePoint has no control over what happens when a document is saved outside SP .
2010 Books: SPF 2010; SPS 2010; SPD 2010; InfoPath 2010; Workflow etc.
2007 Books:
WSS 3.0; MOSS 2007; SPD 2007; InfoPath 2007; PerformancePoint; SSRS; Workflow
Both lists also include books in French; German; Spanish with even more languages in the 2007 list.

But can I indicate that if the document is saved (downloaded from sharepoint) that some metadata should be removed before the document is sent (downloaded) to the user ?
What I am trying to achieve:
User request downloading by saving file from sharepoing (ones clickes save as...) the document is checked by sharepoint (and modified - meta data removed) and then user downloads modified document to the disc on the client site. Then of course he can add
and remove meta data by himselft, but that is not important for me.

Hi,
You can customize the Document Information Panel to exclude "Column2" in Properties panel inside MS word.

Hi,
Unfortunately, Column2 will be visible in Advanced Properties panel. This behavior is observed with ".doc" files and not ".docx" in office 2007.
