I am a newbie to Sharepoint and currently trying to find a solution for the below scenario.

Q 1. I want to send a proposal email to an individual from sharepoint site with customized message(with embedded data from the existing list in sharepoint). When the user responds to the email, the response should be captured in one of the column in the list item from where the email was triggered (Line item). Is there a way to update a list in sharepoint 2013 online/365 from an external data source(in this case I want to fetch the data from an Email infopath form). Is there a out of the box solution for this scenario?

Really appreciate if you can guide me through step by step.

Q 2. Can we update a sharepoint list synchronously from email infopath form when user replies to an email?

Nothing really out of the box. I think the closest you're going to get to OOTB for both, since you're using InfoPath, is to add a data connection in InfoPath to call the lists REST service end point and update the column through that method based on some user action on the form to initiate the POST.
