Sharepoint Designer 2013 won't connect to my sites

I'm using Sharepoint 2013

I'm trying to access a cloud site.

I have my site in my IE's trusted sites list.

I've tried reinstalling.

SPD (Sharepoint Designer) launches fine. I Click "Open Site" and enter my site's url. When i click "Open" the dialog box closes and nothing happens. There is no error box, it just stops navigating.

When I check SPD traffic with fiddler, I'm getting a 403 and a 401.

I've double checked my collection to make sure i am listed as collection admin. I have also tried logging in through explorer first, and keeping that window open while i try to use SPD, no luck.

Any suggestions?? I'm stumped.

Hello,

Please install the latest version of designer: https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2817441?wa=wsignin1.0

Open SharePoint Designer 2013> Click Account on the left navigation. Under User Information, please check if the account is the admin of your tenant admin. If not, please click Switch Account to change to the correct admin account and re-open SharePoint Designer 2013 to see if the issue persists.

Please check them and let us know if that works

Mat,

When using SharePoint Designer, especially in a development environment where content and assemblies can frequently change, SPD can start to behave erratically, sometimes loading content that has been removed from the web site, or using an older version of an assembly. This is due to how SPD caches content, which thankfully, is easy enough to clear.

First, close SPD and then remove all files from the following folder:
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache

This contains things like page caches.

Then, do the same for this folder:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WebsiteCache

This contains cached items such as assemblies used and lots of other xml configuration files.

Restart SPD and all should be good

Newest version installed,

oddly, my account information in SPD is blank...

I don't have a switch account button.

I tried following this, http://blogs.pythagoras.co.uk/2013/03/changing-users-in-sharepoint-designer-2013-when-using-office-365/, which is just removing the credentials from the credential manager. I'm not getting prompted to sign in again.

I still can't open any sites, but now i am getting an error message, which i think is progress.

When i try to open from SPD, i get "Folder path invalid"

When i try to open from the web i get:

"
Unable to open web site
1: The web server may not have sharepoint server installed
2: The web server may be temp out of service.
3: If you are connecting through a proxy server, the proxy settings may be incorrect
4: an error may have occurred in the Web Server
"

Hello,

Here is the similar issue. There is a solution provided but it did not confirm by client.

http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/154/t/258541.aspx

Solution 1 - Add a Service and try connecting (see screen shot)

Solution 2 - Uninstall and Reinstall SharePoint Designer 2013

Hi,

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to connect to the sites using Sharepoint Designer 2013.

You can check whether the sites are set to basic auth. When you set them back to integrated, SharePoint Designer will be able to open up the sites.

Here is a similar thread for your reference:

I don't have that option (add a service) ...  this is a very common problem caused by the atrocious authentication system Msft can't seem to fix. Thousands of users complain yet nothing is ever done about it. Disgraceful.
