Sharepoint list output WSS3.0 not MOSS
In the current scope of transitioning to Sharepoint I was able to create a company directory list. However I need a way to output that list. Currently the list was maintained in excel in a specific format. I would like to output this list
in some report fashion that the users can print out a hardcopy. I am at a loss to the best practice to print out something like this with formating as opposed to printing out a view, etc.RPettis

Here are a few things to help you print the list, keep in mind you can buy web parts but these are free and very good from my point of view.

Another thing you can do, if they're used to printing a spreadsheet...
Click Actions -> Export to spreadsheet
and then just print that.
Also, since it's a company directory, I assume it's a list of people? Since it's people, you can create it as a contact list in sharepoint instead of a custom list.
Then connect that contact list to Outlook. From Outlook when you're printing the contacts, there are several different nice formatting options.Laura Rogers, MCSE, MCTS

A further alternative if you have Access 2007 is to sync your SP list with Access and use the good Access reporting functions to create a quality report in effect from the list.
You'll have to work out some method for making that report available to your users.
The other rather complicated method (but easier then for users to print out) is to use SQL Server Reporting Services. It's probably overkill for a single report, though.
2010 Books: SPF 2010; SPS 2010; SPD 2010; InfoPath 2010; Workflow etc.
2007 Books:
WSS 3.0; MOSS 2007; SPD 2007; InfoPath 2007; PerformancePoint; SSRS; Workflow
Both lists also include books in French; German; Spanish with even more languages in the 2007 list.
