Showing a digital or analog count
Hi,
How can I display a count is a numerical value instead of on a radial dial?
Radial dial is too hard to read the exact number and has no hover value either.
I don’t really want to use a bar chart either.

Hi Peter,
Are your issue relevant to Reporting Services? If that is the case, it seems you would like to display a count in digital format rather than
in radial dial format, in addition, you want to add a hover value to it, my understanding to this is just adding a tooltip to the numerical value, Right? If I misunderstand you, please feel free to let me know.
Actually, using a bar chart, not only can you display a count of numerical value, but also add the Tooltip property of the chart’s data
label which is easy to help you to read the exact number. I will give you an example about how to add a tooltip to the data field in a bar chart, detail steps as below,
Supposing that your report has a dataset named Sales, there are three fields in Sales: Group, Country and SalesAmount.
1. From the
Toolbox, drag a chart control to the report design surface, in the
Select Chart Type dialog box, select Bar in the left pane, click
OK.
2. From the
Report Data pane, from the Sales dataset, drag SalesAmount to the data drop zone, drag Group in the category drop zone, drag Country in the series drop zone.
3. Right click the textbox of SalesAmount in the data drop zone, select
Series Properties.
4. In the
Series Properties dialog box, click fx button below
Tooltip:, in the Expression dialog box, type in like this: =Fields!SalesAmount.Value.
5. Click
OK.
Please click the Preview tab to review the report, you can conveniently view the exact number while you moving the mouse pointer over the bars
in the chart.
