Silent / unattended install for SteadyState?
I do apologize if this question has been answered before (search came up with nothing) but is there any way to do a automated/silent/unattended install for SteadyState? switchs? answer file? anything?I have several different makes/models of desktops I would like to install this on, all with a common user that has no password.

Hi Bobby916, Unfortunately, SteadyState doesnt support automated/silent/unattended install. If these computers are in a domain, you can deploy SteadyState from the domain controller to start the installation process. However, user interaction is still needed during the installation. If you have several computers with the same model, you can also use sysprep to deploy the system with SteadyState. However, this method will not work if most of your computers are different from each other. How to use the Sysprep tool to automate successful deployment of Windows XP http://support.microsoft.com/kb/302577 Best Regards,

I was interested in finding a way to automate the install;here is what i did. Run SteadyState_Setup_ENU.exe, ignore the UELA screen and look on the c drive and you should see a folder name similar to this c917a81f32991c67e271. if not C drive then check other local drives.Open and copy everything in this folder and paste in a new folder, rename the folder to suit yourself. In your new folder there should be an update folder, Open the update folder and run the update.exe /? from a command promt and you should see the switches available.hope that helps.
