State Summarizer Error
Has anyone ever seen this (error from a 2ndry site)SMS Site System Status Summarizer could not access storage object "\\Server\Share$" on site system \\Server\Share$. The operating system reported error 2147944208: The account used is a computer account. Use your global user account or local user account to access this server. I am not quite sure what this error means and infact my mediocre google skills cannot find anything under the error code returned....TIA:)

Hi,I think that this pb is related to distribution point because the SCCM computer account or service account does not have local administrative rights on the distribution point server.Once I resolved a similar problem on ConfigMgr with these urls :http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917484/en-ushttp://krva.blogspot.com/2009/05/now-that-ive-got-my-ocs-2007-r2.htmlThank's.Bechir Gharbi. Hi Bechir..Yes I have seen those articles... the Primary Site Server computer account is a local admin on that file share. This doesn't appear to be the good old Access Denied error... it is a different error code :)TIA...

error 2147944208: The account used is a computer account. Use your global user account or local user account to access this server. I guess it has something to do with whatever configuration on the target server. Any GPO in place that deals with security settings in that area?

Nope... the remote DP is a Netapp filer with a windows host sitting on top presenting the share... it doesn't run GPO...A really strange error..

Having the same issue using NetApp Filer. Is that NetApp box listed as a supported config on http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee344146.aspx?

Hi Christian/Torsten. Unfortunately I have not found a resolution for this issue. In terms of configuration, I fail to see anything relating to NetApp filers on that link Torsten. but it is early(ish) for me and being a little hungover, this may well be there.. In SMS_v4.chm there is a statement relating to NetApp filers indicating that they are only supported in a SAN configuration. The NetApp implementation that I have in my environment is NAS. (although to be honest I am not sure why 1 configuration is supported whilst the other is not??) Due to the timescales of our initial deployment, getting this component working was put on the back burner.. We are almost in a position to start looking at this again, so if I find anything further or get this working I will post up here... Let me know if you have any success please. /BlUNt

Did you created SPN (Service Principle Name) in AD for the NetApp filer windows host alias? This would help the SCCM site system’s computer account to authenticate properly. We had similar issues and creating an SPN solved our issue. Regards, Madan

Yes SPN's were created, in fact we have a full computer object in AD for each Filer and vFiler.

It seems like the problem is not with SCCM and it is correctly attempting to connect to the NetApps filer using its computer account. Just to rule out that there is no problem from SCCM end, could you try connect to the Vfiler share using the SCCM computer account. Download PSTools from here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897553.aspx open the command prompt using the following command using the psexec.exe on your SCCM site server PSExec.exe -i -s -d cmd.exe In the command prompt window try to map a drive to the Vfiler share and see wheter your are able read and save file on the share. If you not able to successful make a connection and if you are geting the same problem, then I guess sccm computer account is not able to make a successfull connection to your NetApps share and the problem could be with the NetApps filer configuration.
