SteadyState / Guest Mode
Hello A customer (school) has asked us to offer them 20 notebooks. We'd like to go with Windows 7, but this requires a solution like SteadyState. I've read about guest mode, but this was removed from Windows 7. Does anyone know about a release date for either SteadyState for Win 7 or guest mode? The customer is willing to wait but he needs a statement about the estimated release date. Thank you very much!

Hi mwiederkehr, I'd like to inform you that Windows SteadyState is not compatible with Windows 7 and currently there is no plan to build a new version for Windows 7.Sean Zhu - MSFT

Thank you for your answer! Do you know something about the release date for Windows 7 Guest Mode? It was in the betas, but removed from the final version. I've read that it will be released as addon, but couldn't find a planned release date.
