Stored Credentials for Subscriptions
Hi We are using SQL 2005 Reporting services (SP2).Shared Data source with stored credentials is created and using by all reports. File Share - Subscription for all reports is created. Do we need to stored username and password for every credentials? Is there any way so that subscription will use same credentials as Data source?Since we change password in every 30days and it will be troublesome to update password for all subscriptions.RegardsSatya

you may want to set up an active directory group and or an application ID that never expires. the app id can be used for the data sources and file share

Hi, I know the post is old but, I have not found a solution for this. I have been looking out but no light. I have been trying to do this for a while now and it is painfull to change all the passwords of subscriptions. Could you please kindly help me on explaining (or a link) on how I can create and use an application ID for the purpose of subscriptions and datasources. Thank you, Ganesh Vel T

For Application ID , create an windows account with password expiry disabled. You can restrict access to this account so that no one else will use it.
