System discovery required in each child primary?
Greetings, We have one domain which houses all the computer accounts for our central and several child primaries. The OU structure does not reflect the SCCM sites. We have System Discovery turned on at the central but it doesnt seem to populate group membership (derived from system group discovery) for computers in child sites. Is it the case that for system group discovery to populate all computer accounts from all Sites that discovery has to be turned on at each child primary as well? Thanks David Z

I could go into a long explanation, but to summarize, yes, you'll want to enable AD System group discovery on any primary sites which have clients; the results of a system group discovery can only done successfully against already-existing clients in that primary's database.Standardize. Thanks. So all I need is system group discovery in each site. I do not need to enable system discovery in each child site as well? Thanks David Z

System discovery does not add group membership data. Do you need to enable it? I don't know. It depends on what you want to achieve exactly.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

The Central site discovers all systems using system discovery but does it discovers all the data even though the system belongs to a child site?
