Update to MPR
Little background first, in my little playground, I first set up the FIM MA and an AD MA. I then load all my users from my AD MA into the FIM DB -- everything OK. Now I decided to play with the inbound Fabrikam HR File MA. Set up a file with the record in it, set up the triplet for it, and got it into the FIM DB -- cool. Now comes the fun part, I changed the synchronization rule for the FileMA to be inbound/outbound, changed the workflow to Add records of set contractor to the FileMA sync rule. Now all of the contractors in the FIM DB have the FileMA sync rule listed on the Provisioning tab --- Expected Rule Entry action set to Add, Synchronization Rule status is Pending.I was then expecting to run the FIM MA and have a number of exports to the FileMA MA, but no. I can't seem to figure out why I can't get anything exported to the FileMA and out of this Pending status. Any ideas?

Please use the Introduction to Outbound Synchronization as reference for yuur scenario. The document provides an overview of all related steps from FIM to your external system.Cheers,MarkusMarkus Vilcinskas, Knowledge Engineer, Microsoft Corporation

Did you check in the Sync Service Manager (Under Tools, Options) that you have "Enable Provisioning from Sync Rules" checked? It is disabled by default...Eric

Yes, it was enabled.I went through setting up the SR rule again being more careful when changing it from an Inbound to Inbound/Outbound SR. I sort of took the Intro to Inbound doc example and Intro to Outbound doc example and merged them into one where it made sense. Everything seems to be working fine now, although I wasn't able to pinpoint the exact problem of why it didn't worl earlier.I'm going to look into what the advantages are, and when you should use an I/O SR as opposed to using an Inbound SR and a separate Outbound SR for the same MA. Is there a performance advantage at all?Anyway, thanks everyone for your help with the previous problem.
