I would suggest you go through the following articles for a better approach on the same, assume the new server to be Windows 2008 R2 rest the steps are nearly the same. Move and migrate servers and server farms (Office SharePoint Server 2007) Migration - Move SharePoint 2007 from 1 server farm to another Hope that helps. -Mukesh"Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi, Do you check this technet article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd622865(office.12).aspx I go through this upgrade process, i did the follow steps. I take the full back of CA, 12hive and IIS. Backup of all content database in SQL server. Then I blow up the farm and update the server with win2k8 standard edition then Install the MOSS 64bit version and after running the config wizard I restore the full back and here we go, everything goes well. Note: just make sure your service account have the right permission. Best regards, David HM

Hello Dave, Thank you very much for your response & article. In our situation we have seperate 64 bit front end & application server. I am familar with installation procedures, while installing is it good to attach the existing 32 bit database server. Is there way to restore all the configuration setting for the central administration, ssp site, IIS settings in new 64 bit physical servers or do i need to reconfigure all the settings. Thanks! Krishna
