Upgrade Windows via SCCM or SMS
Can i upgrade Windows 2000 to Windows XP via System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or Systems Management Server (SMS) ?? How to do that ? What is the requirements ? Any another recommendation tool ? FYI: We have 5 company districts (outside city), 1 district have 5-10 clients (Some Windows XP, some Windows 2000), each districts have Windows Server. I want to upgrade the Windows 2000s to Windows XPs from center (my place) Thanks for your answer

Yes, you can do that. But when you say upgrade, do you really want to upgrade the client OS? The minimum requirement for a CM2007 client is Windows 2000 SP4.Kent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund

Additional information: you cannot "upgrade" the OS, but do a reinstall (save the user state, wipe the disk, install new(er) OS, restore user state) if the prereqs are met (see Kent's reply).Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de
