Using SSRS with Oracle DB
Hi, Which Edition of SQL Server do we have to buy the SQL Server in order to use the SSRS feature to use with Oracle DB as the backend ? or it can be installed as freeware runtime components / services only ?

By using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Report Builder 3.0 from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=d3173a87-7c0d-40cc-a408-3d1a43ae4e33&displaylang=en Can I query and create report from Oracle DB for free ? the reason is that the price is too high to get full blown SQL Server just for reporting. /* Infrastructure Support Engineer */

Hi Albert, The Microsofot SQL Server 2008 R2 Report Builder 3.0 is a free client tool to author reports. It is able to connect to Oracle Database. However, the reports must be published to a report server. Not all edition of Report Server supports Oracle datasource. I would suggest you using Standard or Enterprise edition in this case.
