I have a hyper-V host with 8 VMs. One of these VMs has just started failing on every recovery point or synchronization attempt with the following error in DPM:

The VSS application writer or the VSS provider is in a bad state. Either it was already in a bad state or it entered a bad state during the current operation. (ID 30111 Details: VssError:A function call was made when the object was in an incorrect state
for that function
 (0x80042301))

All the other VMs on this box are backing up fine. Is there away to restore the state of the VSS writer for just one VM? Thanks in advance for any help.
