Hi,
as Alexey told you - both Standard and Enterprise are supported. If you want to use ACS in a large environment SQL Enterprise is the recommended version because the daily insertion of processed Security events will continue while this will be stopped in
Standard edition.
BTW: SQL 2008 R2 is supported with CU3 - you have to create the DBs for OpsMgr and DW manually.Peter Forster | MVP Virtual Machine | Austria | http://www.base-it.at - ERSTER MICROSOFT GOLD SYSTEM MANAGEMENT PARTNER IN STERREICH

Thx guys,
Will the Std version enable me to monitor ~600 servers OK? (Not using ACS).

Hi John
Hope all is well - as you are not using ACS, Standard edition will be fine. The actual configuration of SQL will be far more important than the "edition".

If you are considering High Availability then you can even have a 2 node cluster with Standard edition as long as the underlying operating system is Enterprise edition.

Thankyou all. It's going much easier than I thought and the STD version is 1/10th of the price of Enterprise, so even the boss is happy (for once). :)
