Hello every one, Here is my scenario. I have added couple of solutions to the solution gallery in sharepoint central administration. But when I want to deploy them they are persisting in Deploying (Scheduled HH:MM) status forever. And when I try to retract the existing solutions and having the same issue of in the retracting status forever and never retracted. I tried couple of things to resolve this. 1. Checked windows sharepoint services administration services and windows sharepoint timer services status. They are up and running properly. 2. Deleted the timer jobs in Timerjob Definitions and checked the statuses of the solution. But still they are in same status. 3. I tried to retract and after that ran the execadmsvcjobs command (stsadm -o execadmsvcjobs). But still no use. 4. And even I tried replacing owstimer.exe file (which is in 12\bin) with the same file from other server. So anyone can suggest me why this is happening? And what would be the right solution for this? Typically when a job displays a status of "deploying" or "retracting" and it takes forever, it is trying to access a server which is unavailable in the server farm. Verify whether all your servers are up and running. I am ruling out the option of timerjob not running since you already verified it.Make sure all the services required are running. Try deploying by using the -local parameter in the stsadm command. This will deploy only to the local computer/server you are working on. You will have to redeploy in all the servers in the server farm. Also, do take a look at the 12\logs. V
