Hi, I have some issue when I try to copy files to sharepoint folder (ex. \\server\pdf\library....) from the sharepoint server sharepoint: WSS 3.0 os: Windows 2003 I get the following message: ---------------------------Error Copying File or Folder---------------------------Cannot copy 80352147: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service. ---------------------------OK --------------------------- It are a lot and huge files but when I copy the files from a standard workstation to the sharepoint folder -> no problem In the logs I don't see anything wrong... Server has enough ram / strong cpu / ... We had this problem also on a WSS 2.0 / W2k3 server and it was never solved... Anyone an idea? Frederik

The problem is that there is not enough available RAM to allocate to do the drop to thefolderyou are requesting. I have seen a similarly unusual situation. This has to do more with memory allocation than with the amount of available RAM. Can you accomplish what you are requesting by copying individual files or fewer files at a time? Your server is calculating the amount of time necessary to copy the files. You might try to move the folder to a network share separate from the SharePoint server. Thanks,

Thank you for your reply. I developped a program (i cannot run it from another pc) that copy each day an amount of pdf's from our erp server to the sharepointfolder (500 -> 1000 files (30 kb/file). ButI have also the problem when I copy a single file to the folder... The source folder is not on the sharepoint server. When I copy from a workstation there is no problem. We have a dell: Poweredge 2950 Some specs Processor: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU 5130 @ 2.00GHz Memory: Attributes Memory Array 1 Location System Board or Motherboard Use System Memory Installed Capacity 2048 MB Maximum Capacity 32768 MB Slots Available 8 Slots Used 4 ECC Type Multibit ECC Can I change something at the memory allocation? Unless you have a lot of SharePoint traffic that could be consuming your RAM, that sounds like enough. Are you running virus scan software which is trying to scan all of these files as they get copied over? Also, are you running SharePoint search or some other search indexing software that might be trying to scan the contents of all of these files? If you are using a virus scan or an indexing service, this might be one of the reasons your are getting the error message. You could scan the files for viruses separately, but you may need to disable indexing or searching while the files are copied. These are just a few more ideas. Thanks,

I moved my databases and sharepoint to a testserver. But there I have the same problem. The most services are disabled, in my taskmanager I have no special processes running.

increase you computer RAM that might help you and also increase virtual memory .
