What is SCCM error 0x87D00319 ??

I have a Server 2008 R2 machine that used to pull updates. Now it doesn't. I have SCCM 2012 R2 CU4. Needed updates show up in Software Center but they all fail--there are 10 of them. The server is in a boundary. When you hilit a failed update, select failed and more info, most of them show error 0x87D00319 (-2106410855). When you look this up using cmtrace, Ctrl-L, it says "error not found". I also cannot find out what this error means using google.

Two of the failed updates have error 87D0024A (the job is already connected) and one has 87D00651 (post install scan failed). The other seven failures have 87D00319.

Reboots and puring the ccmcache have not helped.

Any suggestions? T

Any more useful errors or error codes in UpdatesDeployment.log, WindowsUpdate.log or the event log?

In event logs, System, there are several event 7023 entries "The Windows Modules Installer service termindated with the following error: The configuration registry database is corrupt." Exactly which db is this and how can it be fixed?

Updatesdeployment log has several "Failed to create CIstore to get CIinfo, error = 0x80070005, failed to attach update to the automation wrapper, error = 0x80070005" AND "failed to create CIAgent job, error, 0x87D00200"

WindowsUpdate has a bunch of "failed to evaluate installable rule (long SID), hr = 80080005"

Hi,

The registry is a system-defined database in which applications and system components store and retrieve configuration data.

You could try the suggested methods in the similar thread below. This issue is fixed by an in place upgrade, rolling back to an earlier version of win 7 pro.

Windows update failure 80080005

Best Regards,

That is not an answer. My question was what the error code meant, not to do an in place upgrade, which is virtually never the best solution.

I've seen this happening when the registry was corrupted somehow (%windir%\system32\config). Try mounting those files using reg.exe and see if this is working.

Thank you Torsten, but this was 3 months ago and I don't recall what for sure happened with this one. It's quite possible I blew out the ccmcache, software distro folder, and catroot2 to fix it. I'm not totally sure. I'm sorry I don't recall this one and thank you for answering.
