Win PE on Flash Drive

All,

We are using Flash Drive (PNY) to install images on computers that do not have access to SCCM, but I am running into few issues. I am able to create a Stand-Alone Media image successfully using Create Task Sequence Media wizard, also, I am able to install the win 7 image onto the laptop successfully. The problem I am encountering some of the application which are part of the Task Sequencer are not installing during the imaging process. Applications such as, adobe, flash, java, SEE and etc your much is much appreciated with this issue.

Before, i image the flash drive - i use diskpart to clean the flash drive and on laptop as well before installing the image.

I do not use MDT to deploy image but i use MDT to create and capture images only.

Thanks.

What is the task you are using to install applications/packages ?

Do you have individual tasks for applications or using a single task with TS variable for multiple apps ?

I am using the "Install Application" task for each applications. so, i have Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash Player, Java, and SEE. all these have their own app in TS.

Please check the "restart computer" task, if it is set to restart with boot image instead of OS., if this the case install application tasks will fail as they are not supported in WINPE mode. Regards, Manohar Pusala

Alright, the steps I have set to install the application as follows. Off course, before these steps I have the OS, windows and network settings, and driver packages to install which I dont have problem with them.

  1. Adobe Reader
  2.  Adobe Flash
  3. Java
  4. Symantec Endpoint Protection
    1.  For all these app under Options tab the box is checked for Continue on error
  5. Restart Computer
    1.  Under Properties tab the radio button is selected to The currently installed
    2.   Under Options the box is checked for Continue on error
Cant really tell where exactly I am going wrong with these steps I am able to install the image and drivers successfully but not the applications. This is on SCCM 2012

You need to check the Restart computer step before install application steps.

If you don't have one, please put one after driver packages and before install applications. In that step select the radio button."The Currently installed OS..."

Hope this clarifies..
