Windows 7 Clients Not Reporting
We have a mixed environment of Vista and recently deployed W7 clients and I cannot get the W7 clients to report to the console. They all say "Not yet contacted". I have tried everything I have found on this site with running the gpforce udate, report now commands, checked the reg to confirm that they clients are showing the correct WSUS server, I removed/reinstalled the agent on my machine (one of the ones not reporting), etc. etc. I'm not sure what else to do, but any other ideas would be great. I don't know why the Vista clients would report, but not the W7. Please assist!

Hello,Did you follow the steps below to manage Windows 7 in SCE 2007 SP1:
1. Upgrade the System Center Essentials 2007 SP1 Server to WSUS 3.0 SP2. For instructions on how to download WSUS 3.0 SP2 and the improvements in WSUS 3.0 SP2, please see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972455.
2. For Windows 7, download the Windows Client 2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7 Operating System management packs for Operations Manager 2007 and import it into System Center Essentials 2007 SP1.For more information, please read the following article:Support for Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 in System Center Essentials 2007 SP1http://blogs.technet.com/systemcenteressentials/archive/2009/11/06/support-for-windows-server-2008-r2-and-windows-7-in-system-center-essentials-2007-sp1.aspxThanks,Yog Li - MSFT

Hello,Did you remove and reinstall the agents on Windows 7 client after upgrading the SCE server? If the issue still exist, you can check if the "%windir%\windowsupdate.log" has any error message on the client machines. For your information, here is an thread that could be helpful:Windows 7 Client - Not Monitoredhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/systemcenter/thread/d457f10f-93f2-40d9-a9e3-dd1165d62990/Hope it helps,Yog Li - MSFT

Reinstalling did not help, however I found another thread that talked about GPO issues. So I reran the configuration, re-establishing the GPO and the clients started reporting. I'm still getting miscellaneous errors, but I'll take this as progress. Thanks for the help and information.
