Windows 7 OS deployment Time
Dear All, I'm trying to deploy Windows 7 on new H/W which have XP SP3 installed. i've captured the image with Standard Application from a reference computer. But the problem is its taking more than 5 hours to complete the deployment evenif local SCCM site server with DP and PXE point available. The image is around 4 GB. Have anyone faced the same issue. i'm not able to understand why this is happening. Rakesh Kumar

"By Applying OS" takes so much time. Rakesh Kumar

I've seen computers with very little memory using a considerable amount of time applying the OS, especially if the advertisement says download and install. 5 hours is still a lot of time though...

You are probably experiencing this problem: Solution: You may experience slow performance when using BITS and Kerberos Authentication on ConfigMgr 2007 Distribution Points http://blogs.technet.com/b/configurationmgr/archive/2010/06/03/solution-you-may-experience-slow-performance-when-using-bits-and-kerberos-authentication-on-configmgr-2007-distribution-points.aspx The article may have the fix for you. As a quick way to see if this is the problem before bothering with the steps, you can modify the Advertisement of the Task Sequence to Access content directly from Distribution Point (on the Distribution Point tab) to see if you get better performance.
