Hi,

You must target a Windows Intune Agent Settings policy to your machine and set the Value for Endpoint Protection = Yes.

Thanks.

Thanks for reply. Thankfully the problem resolved itself when switching PC on this morning. Might be a good idea to provide links to how to configure Windows Intune Agent Settings policy to set Value for Endpoint Protection = Yes.

Have a fabulous week.

In fact,  I think that Microsoft should do something so that Win8.1 works like Win8,

without this "need to create and deploy a specific Policy"

AC Soft -

Are you saying to needed to create a new policy for a Windows 8.0 computer that had intune installed and was upgraded to 8.1 Pro/Enterprise?

I could see making things faster by doing a remote task for policy refresh - but creating a new policy?

Neilgo,

When my computer was running Win8 + Intune, i didn't need to setup any Policy to get EndPoint protection running.

It was the default behavior, without any explicit Policy, to setup Intune EndPoint protection on win8 computers.
Good idea :)

It seems that this has been changed, because when I upgraded to Win8.1, EndPoint protection was not reinstalled, and I needed to setup this Policy to get it running.

Win8.1 + Intune EndpointProtection NEED a policy to be set,
where Win8 + Intune EndpointProtection don't.

AC Soft,

There was a change with the October 2013 Intune backend update so that "Ungrouped Devices" does not apply Policy.

See the release notes here which is where I learned about it:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj662694.aspx

"

When you specify policies or applications to Windows Intune groups, devices that are members of the Ungrouped Devices group do not receive policy or applications

Issue: Windows Intune does not correctly apply policies and applications to a device that remains in the Ungrouped Devices group. This occurs even when the policy or application is specified to a group other than the Ungrouped Devices group. There are no errors displayed for this problem.

Workaround: Remove the devices from the Ungrouped Devices group, and ensure the devices remain as members of at least one other group that receives policy and applications.
