Did you ever get this problem sorted?I have the exact same problem, where I am using MOSS 2007 and the databse has reached the 4096 size-limit and I can't write any further information to it.Can this database be moved to a server with a full version of SQL 2005 and connected to MOSS 2007?It seems to be a terrible drawback in Sharepoint 2007.Regards,Dan

In conclusion,
Stand-alone Installation of MOSS is not recommended in an enterprise sharepoint deployment.
Basically can be used for Poc only. SQL Server express has a 4GB database size limit and u it does not have analysis & reporting services
So, this is not a best practice deployment reccommendation by Microsoft
Thanks
