I bought my first computer in June 2010 and have it running on the Windows 7 Starter Platform it came with although I changed the IE 8 browser to the 9 version. In the past 35 months with the platform I became attached to the Microsoft/Windows code and stayed through the night with all kinds of code monitors, code tracing tools, readers,Dll.s,Threads and what have you. In the past few days everytime I try to download the required updates the computer (Merlin) gets interrupted by a bogus message and the download stops.I update Wally(Windows Defender) everyday manually without a hitch and all third party code (Symantech,Oracle and Adobe) comes through equally green, whether X controlled or not.Everything fine except Windows Update.I do not have a single clue why the updates are being interrupted and I do not believe the Windows Manager, the I/O Manager,Winload or the Kernel Code is refusing clearance to the update download operation being requested.I would appreciate if someone out there could throw a light in this matter and/or give me a tip or guidance to get my code updates again.Best Regards from Martin Flyer.PS/This bogus message only appears after Windows Update starts to download the code .
