With Riverbled reducing Secondary Sites
Hi to all,
has anybody experience with SCCM ConfigMgr 2007 SP2 R3 and Riverbled to avoid Secondary Sites, regarding WAN optimization? I've heard that some company's thinking about this. They have one central site, one or two primary sites and around 40 Sites currently
installed Secondary Sites. Now they are planning to upgrade to the current SCCM Version and thinking to installing Riverbleds at Sites previously Secondary Site Server exit.
For distribution OS they will implementing an VMware Instance. Within these Instrance they could configure WDS, DHCP and all other services requested by SCCM.
I've not experience with such installation and hope the community could give me an better understanding about advantages / disadvantages.
Thanks!
Regards
Carsten

I've used Riverbeds at smaller sites but not with OSD. I can say that they worked great for what I was using them for.

We had placed riverbeds mostly at small branch offices back in the SMS 2003 days. They helped considerably when deploying software to those sites without having a secondary site or DP there. We did not install operating systems at those offices. They'd have
to ship a computer replacement to them from a head office.
