Workflow for folder management
Looking to see if a workflow could do the following. Notify user when a specific directory is populated with files and then move them. Also to notify user when a scheduled batch job either fails or passes. All via a single email if possible. Dkozlowski@kaig.com

If a single scheduled job fails it will write to the eventvwr. You can just use a simple event alerting rule to get the event id. As far as I know you will have to create a single rule for this and alert on it (well it would be easier) Then for the folder... well to be honest you could use the very same approach for the folder creation if you have the right level of auditing switched on then you can check the security logs for the event ID and use a parameter to select the right event. this will help on event ids and paramenters http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2009/02/25/authoring-rules-for-windows-2008-events-and-how-to-cheat.aspx there is a file and folder mp here http://www.systemcentercentral.com/BlogDetails/tabid/143/IndexID/60342/Default.aspx but be careful how you use this... its very noisy Paul Keely

That identify files and move them workflow sounds like a great job for Opalis. You can do this very easily with the foundation objects in Opalis and fill in many other gaps that fall outside the boundaries of what you can easily do with OpsMgr and ConfigMgr....just throwing this out there as a future option.Pete Zerger, MVP-OpsMgr and SCE | http://www.systemcentercentral.com
