access to sharepoint document libraries via UNC
Hi,Apologies for a similar question to others, but the normal fixes don't appear to work for this issue.I need to get access to a sharepoint document library via a UNC path from a Windows Server 2003 terminal server. I have enabled the WebClient service but on my test system it all works fine but on my live system although I can open a web folder from within SharePoint if I try to map to the UNC path I get "network path cannot be found"any help gratefully recieved.

Sorry if I misunderstood you question.
In My network places go to Add Network place. Follow the instructions and enter the document library url. It will map the document library and whatever you put in that folder is automatically uploaded to document library. Thanks,
Arpit

All, thanks for the suggestions but that is my problem! I can't either map a drive or create a network place as the SharePoint server does not appear to be providing UNC shares, the http share exists so WebDAV is obviously working but there are no UNC paths, strange.thanks, James

Hello,If you do not have "Add network place" option in "My Network places" you will need to check your network configuration. In your "local area connection" properties check that you have "File and printer sharing" checked. Make sure that in your TCP/IP properties NetBIOS is enabled.CheersIvan Bondy - MCPD, MCDBA, MCSA, MCTS - Sharepoint consultant

Try to determine if your firewall prohibits Port 445 communications.
