distmgr.log showing error CWmi::Connect(): ConnectServer(Namespace) failed. - 0x8004100e
I'm seeing this in the distrmgr.log on our primary server. If I try to update packages on this dp, it says install retrying in the console. Win2008 R2 x64 with SCCM 2007 SP2. Most likely you havent installed the IIS 6 Metabase compatibility feature and more importantly IIS 6 WMI compatiblity feature along with IIS. Run server manager and as part of IIS feature list select the above two features and install it.
Let me know if you have those features installed.
Thanks,
Bhaskar

I missed the IIS 6 WMI...I added it. Do I need to restart the server?

The wizard usually tells you if you have to restart the server ...

Excellent post... I missed the WMI also. Immediately fixed my issue. Thanks Gents!

I too would like to offer thanks! That has solved the problem that I was having with packages being distributed but not unpacked on some but not all of my servers.
I and my minions can get on with oppressing users now :)

I had the same issue, program wasn't getting installed on 2nd DP and installing IIS fixed it !!

Saved my bacon! Installed them on the DP and all is well! Probably was also the reason my test clients weren't downloading software updates from the local DP as opposed to the remote one. Thanks BhaskarK!
