I have a simple question.. We use ad groups in query based collections but we want to speed this process up.. We have the discoveries to 15 min (small site) so the group membership is picked up quickly.. I would like to use dynamic collection updating so that when we installed a machine using OSD the computer is added quickly to the collections for the software packages that we want to add. On those collections we query the AD group membership. Does dynamic collection updating can help in this situation.. the working is unclear to me.. Does dynamic collection updating still considder the rules on that collection so does it check for the group membership and only for those machines that are new installed? Is it a combination or does it add all machines that are new?

We use OSD to install machines but in those images only default software is deployed. Most machines need some extra software and after a deployment it takes sometimes hours before the deployment is finished.. The discovery proces takes 15 min. then the collection update 30 min. then the client needs to detect the changes once per hour.. results in a deployment after 2 hours.. I hoped that the new R3 functionality would allow me to speed up the proces. I hoped that the collection update would be done each 5 min for new machines and belonging to the AD groups. Can you explain the R3 functionality and in what scenarios it can be used?
