install reporting services
Hi all,
I've been trying to look for a manual\tutorial how to install the SCCM reporting services, but without any luck.
My lab configuration is as follows:
2 Domain controllers (windows 2008 r2)
1 SQL server (i installed on it the SCCM database) it is not on the sccm server.
1 SCCM server
2 client machines (windows 7, and windows xp).
I have to mention that all the server are running windows 2008 r2, and the sql is also 2008 r2.
further more, the sccm 2007 r2.
I know how to add the reporting point role, and the reporting services point role, but i don't know on which server to add the roles.(i'm a bit confused about that).
The sql server which hosts the sccm database does not have IIS on it, so my guess is that the reporting services role should be applaied on the sccm server, right?
But...the sccm server does not host the sql databse...it's on a sdiffrent server.
One thing i forgot to mention, is that the sql server, and the sccm server are not running with the same user name. but the sccm username (domain admin) have rights to the sccm login (i added the account of the sccm admin to the sql logins, i just thought
you'll need to know about that).
So, i hope i made my self clear, i thought i;ll add the two roles, and that's it...but it seems to be a bit tricky, and i need your help with this one.

It should be installed on the SQL server (with the Reporting Services component). Take a look here for more information:

Nothing special. After that you should be able to copy the default reports to the Reporting Services Point. My Blog: http://www.petervanderwoude.nl/
