insufficient permissions and the UAC.
I realize this has been asked before but i can't believe that leaving the UAC turned off is the only answer??
Running Wndows 7 and RS2008 R2
User 'PCNAME\UserName' does not have required permissions. Verify that sufficient permissions have been granted and Windows User Account Control (UAC) restrictions have been addressed.
Step 1. Turn off UAC and reboot.
Step 2. Go to Report Manager web site and yes, it works, so add my user account (even tho i'm already in builtin\Admin group) to the RS sys admin role.
Step 3. Add this site to trusted sites.
Step 4. Turn the UAC back on and reboot again - ugg
Step 5. Same error msg.
I even tried running IE as administrator.
Seriously?

Hi d_e_k,
In order to avoid the blocking by the User Access Control(UAC) locally, we need to add the specified user as Content Manager in the Report Manager explicitly.
In this case, since we add a group the use belong to to the Report Server, this won't fix the issue. In order to fix the issue, please add the user(e.g. domain\username) as Content Manager in the Report Server.
Please note, the issue only happen locally(while assessing the Report Manager or Web Services URL from the Report Server server). It is due to the Windows Server 2008 or Windows 7 limit the overuse of elevated permissions by removing administrator permissions.
While assessing the Report Manager or Report Server from a remote machine, the issue won't happen.
If there is anything unclear, please feel free to ask.
Thanks,
