last login to a SharePoint 2007 Farm
Good Afternoon All, I am cleaning up old User Account in Active Directory. I am using the lastLogon attribute of the user account to determine if the account should be deleted or not. My problem is that some of my Users only logon to SharePoint 2007 sites and do not logon to Domain Members. I have done some testing and I am not seeing the lastLogon time change due to a SharePoint Logon. So how can I get the time that a user last logged onto the SharePoint site? I have three WFE, and 32 Domain controller. I do understand that the lastLogon Attribue does not replicate, so I do check with each domain controller for each user account. Thank you, Anton

Hi, In your scenario I would suggest you to follow this approach: 1. before deletion of users create the list. 2. Use IIS logs and see what users have accessed the site. Create a list. 3. Compare the above two and decide on deletion. I hope this will help you out. Thanks, Rahul Rashu

You could look at the usage statistics if you have them enabled on your farm. http://sharepointsherpa.com/2008/02/06/configure-moss-2007-site-usage-reports/ You can export to Excel and see the user stats for the last 30 days.Paul Turner http://redmanta.co.uk/blog Twitter: @RedMantaUK MCTS:WSS,MOSS,2010 MCITP:2010.
