migrate distribution point
I need to replace the hard disk in my primary Distribution point. It is running an a single IDE drive.. and I want to move it to a SATA Raid Array. I have over 100 packages distributed to this DP and really do not want to have to remove them all, and re-add
then manually through the console.
Would it work if I did a robocopy of the sms folders, and gave the new drive the same letter as the old drive?

If the path and everything stay the same and this drive has only the SMSPKGx$ share and other DP files it may work.
This is one of the many reasons I never use stand alone DP's. If it were a secondary site you'd be able to use preloadpkgonsite.exe and put the files back in a supported manner.

Things worked smoothy- just recreated the share with same security permissions on the new drive.
Thanks.
