I have read on this forum that when you activate the ping to the server you get a alert when the server is not available anymore. So i have enabled thru a overrride the ping monitor for Windows Computers and Windows Server 2003. Last weekend a few servers where disconnected from powersupply. There was no alert rising and no email. When a switch goes down there is a alert so alerting is working. I am strumbeling for this quit a while now. The only thing i want is to get a alert when a server goes offline. That must not be too hard to configure i suppose but why doesn't a alert appear when even the power cable is disconnected... Then i must get a alert for powersupply and a ping. I am using the newest version for the system centre essentials. freddie
