hi all, i have installed the sql server 2008 enterprise and i found that after i login as administrator in the prompt login box , the report manager shows a blank page, a complete white page. i have searched the problem and know that in 2005 iis should be configured to disallow annoymous access to solve the problem. but how to solve this in 2008? thanks!

Hi, Here is a similar thread about the same issue( even open as administrator). And what is the meaning of a complete white page? You cannot see report manager home header and any error message? In Reporting Services Configuration Manager, switch to the Scale-out deployment, can you see the instance? Hi ,I am also getting the same error. the Report manager is worknig fine with Network Service. but when i given the windows user accoutn as service account , then it is displaying blank page. I tried open IE with administraot. But no luck. Please help me why it is showing complete blank page.SureshSuresh

I had the same situation and tried every steps explain here in this forum but no luck. Then I googled and found this info http://dobrzanski.net/2008/03/28/reporting-services-blank-report-manager-screen/and it worked.In my case Anyonymus authentication was enabled along with the Windows authentication. The moment I unchecked the Anonymus authentication i was able to see everthing withought any problems.The key point here is in the IIS on the Directory Security Tab make sure only the Integrated Windows Authentication is checked and all others are unchecked. Also, make sure you site is added to the Trusted Sites zone in your IE browser, and you been to "SQL Server Configuration Manager" at least once to configure your reporting services in order to connect to the database.Thats all folks and it should run smoothly.

The problem which is exhibited (blank page in report manager after repeated login prompts) is a problem at the authentication layer. As vpdsouza mentions above, this can happen when the IIS Vdir directory security is configured for Anonymous. It can also happen when the service account is not configured to have a SPN on the server and Kerberos authentication is being used. When using IIS, when "windows integrated" is selected, then you are using NTLM or Kerberos, which ever the client chooses. The reason Network Service just works is that the SPN for that account is automatically created by the Windows. If you're using RS 2008, we try to be smart about the credentials settings based on the service account you choose during setup. If you change from Network Service to a domain account after installation, you may need to either configure the SPNs for the new service account, or edit the rsreportserver.config file to remove the line RSWindowsNegotiate and/or RSWindowsKerberos and replace them with a similar line which says RSWindowsNTLM.Hope that helps,-LukaszThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

I have the Blank Screen Problem on SSRS (SQL 2008). I wanted to force SSRS to only accept Kerberos using onlyRSWindowsKerberos inrsreportserver.config. I suspect like you say that it's the SPN not being present and correct (Had an SPN problem to get the DB Engine to acceptKerberos). What is the Format of an SPN for SSRS? (by the way, it's a named instance)

The following command is used to set an SPN: setspn -A ServiceClass/Host:Port ServiceAccount For Reporting Services use the following: ServiceClass = HTTPHost = Machine | FQDN | HostHeaderPort = Port Number of SSRSIf Port = 80, it can be omitted since that is the default, but you should add it anyways. For SSL, default port is 443.ServiceAccount = the RS service account.Make sure that the service account is correctly set up for delegation if you're trying to do delgation. I am still having problems with the blank page on Window 2008 64/SQL 2008 after completing all the recommended steps. I am not getting any error messages and don't see any in the logs. The only difference in my server than most is it has the Army Gold Mater disk setup. Is there anything out there on this or that can help me with the right combination of setup keys? Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thank you.
