sccm 2007 question with another imaging process
I am curious to know if I have a good image on sccm and deploy it to a pc, then make a disc to disc copy of that pc hdd(eg ghost etc), will sccm recognize it? or does the image have to come from sccm before it recognizes it? Also is there a reason
for that to?

Yes, you can capture the image of a machine through SCCM as well. See, the details below.

I would suggest you to post opertaing system deployment related queries in OSD sub forum.Anoop C Nair - This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees, and confers no rights. |Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually

Why would you use anything but OSD? You're just throwing money away.
To directly answer the question though, yes, as long as it's a valid and supported installation of Windows, ConfigMgr can manage it.
OSD doesn't do anything special or magical to the OS to differentiate it from any other (inferior and more costly) deployment method whether it be manual installation or some other third-party product. OSD is itself magical and special :-)Jason | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jsandys | Twitter @JasonSandys
