sccm clients
2007 r3 the workstation has the latest version installed and the service is running however the site server under client says no. So why does the parent site think the client is not installed? Even after I do a repair and the log says it was successful.

We'd need to see the client logs. Start with clientlocation and locationservices.log. How are your boundaries configured. Did you refresh the collection after the repair? Has this client ever worked? John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum/|

Hello - Check the locationservices.log to find out the whether the client is able to communicate with MP? http://blogs.technet.com/b/configurationmgr/archive/2009/08/10/troubleshooting-issues-where-clients-are-not-reporting.aspxAnoop C Nair - This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees, and confers no rights. |Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Start by performing a collection Update and refresh in the CM console. After that, check the clients are correctly assigned to the site. Open the ConfigMgr. client in the Control Panel, select the Actions tab and make sure you have more than two actions.Kent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund

last line of clientlocation log Current Management Point is sccm.local with version 6487 and capabilities: <Capabilities SchemaVersion="1.0"> </Capabilities>. last line of locationservices log Executing Task LSRefreshLocationsTask no red or yellow in either log all boundaries are protected, other workstations in the same site and same collection work fine yes I refreshed the collection and it is set to refresh on the hour the client actually works fine except for reports, under properties I see the advertisements but under reports I see nothing, I figured this was because the site server isn't seeing the client??
