scom 2007 variable compute rname
hello, I want a variable in SCOM2007 R2 which I could see the 'computer name' (netbios name or FQDN).
I need to retrieve the computer name for a script.
Since one year, I used this variable : $Data/Context/DataItem/ManagedEntityPath$ but I have a problem with only ManagentPACK Exchange.
Thanks in advance for your help, regards

I'm not exactly sure what you want to do, but it seems you try to read some alert and from the context figure out the computer. It would depend if there's a relationship to a computerobject...Rob Korving

Thank you, but I want to trying to get the computer name in the Alert Description field.
I used $Data/Context/DataItem/ManagedEntityPath$ for all Management Pack (SQL,AD,etc...) and the result is correct.
With the 'ManagementPack' Exchange, the result is false.
Do you know an another variable for SCOM 2007R2 (cu4) with the 'computername' ?

it still depends on whether the alert has a relationship with the computer you are looking for or not. e.g. for a website check you probably can find the agent running the tasks, but never find the computer the website actually runs on.Rob Korving
