Hi, Our system configuration is W2k8 R2 std, SP 2010, server farm with domain. SP 2010 was working fine. After we download and installed Office web apps 2010 Beta. While running sharepoint configuration wizard in step 5 showing configuration Failed. " Failed to register SharePoint services. An exception of type System.InvalidOperationException was thrown. Additional exception information: Failed to load or format string Id ManagementUI_ExcelCalculationService_FriendlyName for culture en-US: System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for ‘Microsoft.Office.Excel.Server.Host.ExcelServerHost’ threw an exception. —> System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. —> System.TypeLoadException: Could not load type ‘Microsoft.Office.Excel.Server.Extensions.IHostExtension’ from assembly ‘Microsoft.Office.Excel.Server.MossHost, Version=14.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c’. at System.Reflection.Assembly._GetType(String name, Boolean throwOnError, Boolean ignoreCase) " While google search found the solution delete the registery key for relevant service. If I delete the service I can run the configuration wizard successful. If we delete their mentioned Excel online won't work. I would like to install and check including Excel feature.
