ssrs 2008 r2 report-specific versus shared schedule
I am running sql server report 2008 r2 standard edition and I have a question about report-specific and shared schedule. When looking at the 'processing options' in report manager for ssrs 2008 R2 reports, there is report-specific and share scheduled report under the categories of: a. 'cache a temporary copy of the report. Expire copy of the report on the following schedule', and 'render the report from a snapshot'. My question is do you have to select either the radial button 'cache a temporary copy of the report. Expire copy of the report on the following schedule' or 'render the report from a snapshot' for the report-specific schedule or shared schedule to execute? There is no other way for 'report-specifc schedule' or shared schedule to execute?

Hi Wendy, Yes. For a report, we have to select “Cache a temporary copy of the report. Expire copy of report on the following schedule” or check “Use the following schedule to create report snapshots” for report-specific schedule or shared schedule to execute. In addition, we can also specify a dataset-specific schedule or shared schedule to a shared dataset in Reporting Services 2008R2, and specify report schedule or shared schedule when in subscription.
