I installed SCE on a new dedicated server. I have made 2 computer groups.Now I have a problem with 2 of the 16 Windows 2003 servers. The health state of the 2 is ok but the updates, software, operating system and model have a status of unknown and on the general tab I get this computer has not been contacted yet. All the servers in this group have the same policy and they all have an SCE agent installed. Hi, First, please ensure the following registry key are there: Run regedit command on those problematic computer and go to HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate registry key to verify that the following settings are there: WUServer - https://<SCEServer>:8531 WUStatusServer - https://<SCEServer>:8531AcceptTrustedPublisherCerts - 1 Also, from the error message, I found the following error prompt: WARNING: WinHttp: SendRequestToServerForFileInformation failed with 0x80072f78 Please install the Update for Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) 2.0 and WinHTTP 5.1 for Windows Server 2003 from the following link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=3FD31F05-D091-49B3-8A80-BF9B83261372&amp;amp;displaylang=en&displaylang=en After that, run wuauclt.exe /resetauthorization /detectnow to see if it do the trick.
