Hi All,

maybe a quick question. i am trying to access VM console through app controller from a remote location public PC. I can connect fine but when I open console the message says VM manger failed to connect to the VM because the host hyper.xyz.com could not be resolved by DNS. I then edited host file and entered the hyper-v address (NATED address) and opened port 2179 in the firewall.

I am now getting virtual machine manager failed to connect socket connection error. Check the firewall and network settings, and then try to connect again.

A) why is this error

B) do i have give my hyper-v servers a public IP and open firewall ports so that public DNS can resolve it for remote access to the VM console?

My understanding was that you only need a public/Nat'd IP for APP Controller and not expose my hyper-v servers.

Any thoughts please?
