warm up moss2007 with fba
hi all,
i did search the internet to get some scripts or codes that could warm up my moss site with form-based authentication.
while, i doubt whether they really warm up the whole site, including every pages.
it seems that they do really warm the login page, but other pages are still "unwarmed".
i guess i need a program which can simulate the behavior of login and then clicking on every avaible pages.
any suggestions?
thanks in advance.Andrew Chen

Yes. That's exactly what you need.
Because your site is FBA, any warmup scripts that are meant to be used with AD will just direct the script to the FBA login page thus causing it to fail. That is why the login page is warmed up, but the other pages aren't.
What you need is a script/app that will create a browser control and then send that control to the login page. It needs to simulate the login and capture the authentication cookie. Once that's completed, it can cycle through and hit all the pages
in the site in order to warm them up.
I trust that answers your question...
Thanks
C

Andrew,
This is what you want
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc337896.aspx. Its powershell. I have tested it with some other web page with form submission, but i don't see any reason why it would not work with FBA after all its textboxes and button.
I would appreciate if you can share you solution here for benefits of others.

Hi Sameer,
I'm new to PowerShell,
while after a quick test, i found that the document() method returns nothing if current page is my moss login page.
still don't know why.Andrew Chen

Hi Sameer,
thanks.
I currently using Powershell 1.0. I can log into my moss site and then navigate to other pages .
I 'm new to Powershell, and i can NOT reproduce the same error.
if i had more time, i would like to dive into it.
