There has been a network or file permission error
"There has been a network or file permission error. The network connection may be lost (<fileName>)."
I have been trying to solve this problem for ages now.
My team get this error when ever they try and check in a document to our WSS 3.0 site from an external client for any 'large' file (The test file is 9.53MB, which I don't consider to be particularly large)
I have altered the executionTimeout setting to 99999 in web.config in 'templates\layouts' folder of the WSS 12 hive, as well as in the virtualDirectories folder, as well as increasing the timeout in IIS to 6000 sec.
I've also disabled the anti-virus on my PC.
Any document upload that takes longer than approx 4 minutes is timing out.
Can some-one please suggest how I fix this.
cheers

Hi, From your post, I think this is just network/client issue. Can you provide more information to help narrow down this issue:1. Does this issue occur on specific users?2. Does this issue occur on specific clients? Hope this helps Thanks!Stanfford

All users, all clients, and it seems to be any file of 10Mb or more. The team work primarily with word documents and powerpoint presentations.
