I keep getting this message when I try to access a file on a network: A password is required to synchronize this notebook.  Where can I enter a password?

Thank you for your response Max. However, I am the owner of the file.  That is why it is so perplexing to be asked for a password to sync my own file.  I don't know where to locate the area to enter a password.

We're having the same problem - although we're trying to sync with our SharePoint doc library.  It never prompts for a password so we're not sure where to enter it.

I am having the same problem. It asks for a password that I never set up and I am the owner of the doc. It usuall synchs to the server at work but it won't synch and It won't let me edit, or start a new page in any of the notebooks that are not synching. I am considering abandoning the whole program! I keep most everything in the program but if it isn't reliable then it is worthless to me.

I also get this message and it is frustrating because I don't even remember putting a password in.  I used these daily before converting from 2007 to 2010 and never had to input a password.  Now the whole notebook won't open.  And it has important information I need.

I'm getting the same error connected to a network share where I have full permissions and there is no password on my Onenote files.

This is an issue that needs to be addressed.
