.NET 3.51 SP1 and Exchange 2007 SP1 Rollup 6
Are there any known issues with .NET 3.51 SP1 and Exchange 2007 SP1 Rollup 6. I need to install Quest's ActiveRoles Management Shell for Active Directory. Thanks in advance.Jon-Alfred Smith MCTS: Messaging MCSE: S+M

Hi,Are you planning to install .NET 3.5 SP1 on exchange sevrer role like CAS, If yes then there is known issue for OOF does not work well on CAS server and need to deploye one hotfix. You may experience one or more of the following symptoms after you install a package that contains the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) ::http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/958934 Anil

Thanks for the link! I will only install it on the passive node of a CCR cluster. I should have been more precise. Sorry! Jon-Alfred Smith MCTS: Messaging MCSE: S+M

I would install all the updates of .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 available through Windows Update. Any reason for choosing server instead of workstation with .Net 3.5 SP1, Exchange Management Tools & Quest AR Shell?Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

We just recently got a Windows 2003 server with the Exchange Management Tools. Usually we RDP into the Exchange servers. So if I get your right, I should not install .NET 3.5 on any of the cluster nodes and use the Management server instead? We don not have access to Windows Update.Jon-Alfred Smith MCTS: Messaging MCSE: S+M

Yes, You should install it on any member server instead of any CCR node. If you follow this manner I do not see any issue will encounter in AD ENV with exchange.YOu can downlaod .NET 3.5 installable exe from web.Anil

Well, you can install .net 3.5 but its recommended to install all available updates after installation of it so it would fixes all known issues... Like Anil said... https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=363175&wa=wsignin1.0 I would prefer a member server or a workstation to manage Exchange environment remotely specially when we are integrating it with other applications.Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
