some of the ISP are blocking our email because the send connector is sending out domail.local instead of domain.org

Change the FQDN value on the Send Connector to match the PTR (aka reverse DNS) on your static IP address.

domain.local is not accepted on the Internet. Use domain.org instead. In order to fix this, you should run the Internet Address Management Wizard.

Hi,
How to specify the FQDN of send connector:
1. Launch Exchange Management Console, expand to Organization Configuration->Send Connectors.
2. Right click the send connector that routes messages from the exchange to internet choose properties.
3. In General tab, under "Specify the FQDN this connector will provide in response to HELO or EHLO", type in your external host name.

Still I would have used a wizard for this task. SBS 2008 i very integrated. The main administration is very different from the usual way to manage AD and Exchange. The general rule is to use the SBS 2008 wizards if they are available for a task. A better

Microsoft does also recommend to use a Smart Host for outbound Internal mail. SBS users often run into problems sending mail to AOL and its like. Take a look at the strict requirements AOL operates with.
