you can't upgrade directly to Exchange 2010. Exchange 2010 doesn't support coexistence with Exchange 2000.

Hi,
You can't upgrade an existing Exchange 2000 organization directly to Exchange 2010. You must first upgrade the Exchange 2000 organization to either an
Exchange 2003 or Exchange 2007 organization, and then you can upgrade the Exchange 2003 or Exchange 2007 organization to Exchange 2010Regards from www.windowsadmin.info

Hi,
If the no. of user are less then you can user exmerge to export the pst & then import-pst to import the same in exchange 2010, is that a different orgnization/forest if yes user ADMT to migrate those users & if the no. of user are more then Philip
is quite right. Do let us know if that didn't answer you query or more info is required.Ripu Daman Mina | MCSE 2003 & MCSA Messaging | MCC

As Danny mention exchange 2010 is already up and running, so it is not possible to install Exchange 2003 or 2007 in Exchange 2010 organization.

M.salah is right. Once E2K10 is in place, legacy servers can no longer be added to the organization. E2K10 can coexist with E2K3 and E2K7 servers ALREADY in place - not added later. So export to .pst looks like the best bet. Other option is 3rd party solution.
QUEST is often mentioned. It will cost you though.

Do you mean the Exchange 2010 server is "up and running" in a new Active Directory Forest?

Yes, please refer to the document given by m.salsh.
If this is an Exchange 2010 greenfield environment (an Exchange organization that consists only of Exchange 2010 servers and never had previous versions
of Exchange deployed), the answer is no. If you have transitioned from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010 and the last Exchange 2007 server has already been decommissioned, the answer is again no.
If your environment is just the document described, you can follow Ripu’s suggestion use Exmerge to export the pst
file and then import pst file to Exchange 2010.
In Exchange 2010, you can follow this document to import pst file:
Import-Mailbox
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb629586.aspx
In Exchange 2010 SP1, you can refer to this document:
A look at the Import/Export Mailbox improvements in Exchange 2010 Service Pack 1 (Part 1)
http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2010/management-administration/look-import-export-mailbox-improvements-exchange-2010-service-pack-1-part1.html
If your Exchange 2010 is not up and running in a new Active Directory forest,
ManU’s suggestion is good.
Thanks,
Evan

1. Depends on the number of users. Either PST.
2. What I am currently doing for one customer
