2003 smtp virtual server stuck email
I have 2003 exchange server that has three emails stuck in a domain.com smtp virtual server, they've been there sense May. I do a find messages and they are listed in a state of 'queued'. when I right click to delete them, all options are
disabled except for 'properties.
How can I remove these messages and or the .com virtual server they are stuck in. Everything else is working just fine.
thanks,
Fred

Have you tried reboot exchnage server when do maintenance then check it. Every message has one expired time limit and this must be expired after some time. Also you can go into mail queue folder and delete message from "folder from <var>drive</var>:\Program
Files\Exchsrvr\Mailroot\Queue to the new location"
If you get any error deleteing from queue folder then stop exchange services then delete it.

Hi Fred,
What is your mean of “There are no emails in the \mailroot\queues.
but they are listed in ESM”, could you explain it in detail?
Thanks,
Evan

They are listed in x.com domain virtual server, three of them, under my exchange server queues in system manager. they have been there sense May. Under 'find' they have no sender and there 'state' is 'queued, 'time received' 5/31/11, 'time expires'
6/2/11. Nothing listed under the 'sender' column. I right click on any one of them and the only option enabled is 'properties' All mail is flowing fine except these three emails to x.com. they are not in the queue folder under mailroot\queues.
thanks,
Fred

Hi Fred,
Thanks for your reply.
From your description, I understand your emails are stuck in default-domain.com(SMTP connector) queue, and you cannot right click to delete them under ‘find’
, right?
If so, you can use aqadmcli to empty the SMTP queue:
Download this tool from here:
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/pss/Tools/Exchange%20Support%20Tools/Aqadmcli/aqadmcli.exe
Run it and type in the following commands:
Setserver<servername>
Delmsg flags=all
Quit
Note: change <servername> to the Exchange Server which contains the queue you want to manage.
Thanks,
Evan
